The Dayton/Miami Valley Safety Council is a program of the Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce and an affiliate of the Ohio Bureau of Worker's Compensation, Division of Safety and Hygiene. Members of the Dayton/Miami Valley Safety Council are able to take advantage of member benefits such as the monthly Safety Breakfasts with the Experts series, check out videos from the Video Library, and receive a copy of SafetyNet Newsletter each month.

The Dayton/Miami Valley Safety Council serves Montgomery, Miami, Preble, Darke, Shelby, and Greene Counties. The chapter is supported through the Dayton Area Chamber of Commerce, BWC - Division of Safety & Hygiene, membership dues, and training registration fees. Members of the Dayton/Miami Valley Safety Council Board of Directors represent safety professionals from a variety of industries throughout the region.  

Safety Council Membership Application

The Ohio Bureau of Workers' Compensation Safety Council Incentive Program kicked off on July 1, 2009. In conjunction with the BWC, the Safety Council offers members a 2 percent rebate on workers' compensation premiums for FY10 if they enrolled in the program by July 31, 2009. Additionally, employers that successfully meet the requirements of the Safety Council Incentive Program also have the opportunity to earn a 2 percent performance bonus. To be eligible for this discount, companies must:

  • Be enrolled in the Dayton/Miami Valley Safety Council by July 31, 2009.
  • Send a company representative to a minimum of 10 meetings or events, hosted by the Dayton/Miami Valley Safety Council, between July 1, 2009 and June 30, 2010.
  • Have the company's highest ranking authority, typically the CEO, attend any one Safety Council sponsored meeting or function between July 1, 2009 and June 30, 2010.
  • Submit semi-annual reports for the 2009 calendar year.

To begin earning the 10 credits toward the Safety Council Incentive Program, we encourage companies to register for the 10 training programs of their choice by returning a completed Safety Breakfast with the Experts Registration Form.

In an effort to anticipate some of the primary questions that companies and our members may have in regards to the changes made to the Safety Council Incentive Program, we have developed a Fact Sheet to serve as a reference guide to answer questions about the Safety Council Incentive Program and how it works.
