Public Policy Committees
The Chamber’s Public Policy Committees are responsible for formulating Chamber positions on business-related issues and guiding the Chamber’s advocacy activities. In addition to reviewing public policies, committee members also share information and exchange ideas about the local economy and regulatory environment. Each committee assists with the development of a legislator scorecard, hosts legislative receptions and meetings with elected officials and policymakers, and provides oversight of the Chamber’s advocacy activities.
Chamber members are welcome to serve on any of the following Public Policy Committees:
- Legislative & Regulatory Affairs – Directs Chamber's legislative and regulatory activities on a wide range of taxation, trade, health care, legal reform and other business-related issues.
- Environmental – Reviews pending state and federal environmental, health and safety laws and regulations promulgated byOhio EPA, U.S. EPA, OSHA, and other state and federal agencies.
- Military & Federal Government Affairs – Reviews issues relating to Wright Patterson Air Force Base, federal contracting, defense spending, aerospace and aviation industries, and quality of life considerations for military personnel located in the Dayton region.
LEADER- A grassroots coalition of 25 chambers of commerce in the greater Dayton region,representing over 11,000 businesses. LEADER members focus their efforts on unified advocacy and education for pro-business legislation, public policy and a business friendly regulatory environment.
