How to Create a Culture of Workplace Safety

At the September 2017 Dayton/Miami Valley Safety Council, Ron Joseph from AES Corporation (the parent company of Dayton Power & Light) will discuss the factors that affect your workplace safety culture.
Ron was part of a team that developed and facilitated a Safety Culture Leadership training program that won the AES President’s Award for Safety and helped the DP&L Transmission & Distribution business win the AES Golden Hard Hat Award at the global level.
The program starts with assessing your current Safety Culture, as described by the DuPont Bradley Curve.
We’ll also discuss:
o The key factors that can either improve or degrade your Safety Culture.
o The anatomy of an incident, how incidents are caused, and how your leaders should react to them.
o The levels and Commitment of Safety Ownership and Safety Commitment.
o How to use Heinrich’s pyramid to switch from a reactive to a proactive Safety Culture.
o How to build organizational trust and empower others to improve the Safety Culture of your workplace.
- Chamber program fees are deductible as a business expense, not as a donation
